Bereavement Ministry Team
(310)833-3541
Trained parish volunteers meet with families who have lost a loved one, helping them reflect on the life of the deceased and plan a Funeral Liturgy. Appropiate scripture readings and music are selected with any family member who wishes to participate.
On the first Saturday of November, the parish joins in a concelebrated liturgy in remembrance of all those who have died during the preceding twelve months. The names of the deceased are inscribed on a scroll that remains near the sanctuary throughout the month of November.
Bereavement Support Group
Paula Mazzarino, (310)833-3541
The Bereavement Support Group offers those who have lost a loved one an opportunity to share their experiences of God's love. With the support of the faith community and caring facilitators, they are encouraged to give voice to their unique journeys of grief and to find healing and spiritual growth. Small-group sessions help the bereaved to explore mourning through scripture, prayer, reflection activities and faith sharing. The group meets every week in the rectory patio room. People may join at any time and continue as long as they like.
