The Sacrament of Holy Orders
Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry. It includes three degrees: episcopate, presbyterate, and diaconate.
Catechism of the Catholic Church 1536
Each baptized member of the Catholic Church has been called by God not only to spend eternity in heaven, but also to spend time in service here on earth. Most people have a "call," or vocation, to the married life, but some are called to the priesthood or religious life. Through prayer and a variety of programs aimed at increasing vocations awareness, our parish hopes to be the "fertile ground" where many new vocations are born and nurtured.
Those who feel called by God to the priesthood or religious life are invited to contact Fr. Brian for assistance in discerning (carefully listening to) what God's call might entail for them.
