A team of ministers also brings the consolation of the Holy Eucharist to those patients at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro who have indicated a desire to receive Communion.
Specially trained ministers also conduct weekly communion services for the retired members of Harbor Terrace Retirement Home and the mentally ill residents of Harbor View House in San Pedro. This great outreach require ministers who can be sensitive and caring under very special circumstances as they help make God present to the people. Ministers are trained to listen to the concerns of residents and to pray with them in a compassionate manner. For more information please contact Sr. Ena at (310) 834-5431.

Parish Hospitality
Friendly parishioners offer a smiling face and a helping hand on trips, at seasonal celebrations, and at other activities. Members of the Hospitality Committee are constantly seeking new ways to offer hospitality to strangers, where they be from another culture or simply another city. They also work in tandem with the Ushers Ministry on weekends, acting as greeters prior to each Mass and serving refreshments out the church after the 7:30 a.m. & 9:00 a.m. Sunday Masses. For more information contact Josephine Frka at (310) 833-3541.
Culture of Life
Members of the Culture of Life Committee strive to develop among parishioners and society at large a mindset of "life-issue consciousness," an awareness that life must be respected from its beginning to its natural end.Through participation in the annual Life Chain in downtown San Pedro, prayer at abortion clinics, Culture of Life Month in October, an annual May baby shower, and other outward expressions, the committee keeps alive the "pro-life" message. The committee's ultimate goal is ratification of a "Human Life Amendment" to the U.S. Constitution. The post-abortion phone contact for "Project Rachel" is 1-800-RACHEL6.
